“Unfortunately, Long Island is becoming a typical metro-suburban community where homelessness is often seen as something off the radar,” said Suffolk County Social Services Commissioner Gregory J. Blass. “There is a gap between the homeless and people who can help, and events like Stand Up for the Homeless help to bridge that gap.
